I would like to know what Brighton and Hove City Council thinks it is up to.
I live in a council block in Kemp Town, where a mattress has been dumped in the grounds for more than three weeks.
The caretaker has tried to get it taken away, I and other residents have rung the council offices and I have even emailed the leader of the council.
The mattress became a bedroom for drunks, until it was dampened with water and disinfectant.
It is an eyesore, inviting rats to use it as a home, particularly as one or two restaurants in St James Street seem to think Ardingly Street is a dump for their rubbish.
If, after all the complaints the council has received, it still fails to do anything about rubbish on its own property, how can it justify the expense of these street doctors?
It's just another publicity stunt designed to put the council in a favourable light whereas, in reality, the work they do is in no relation to the extortionate amounts they get for a salary.
I just hope their hands shake when they pick up their pay cheques.
