A new leader has been appointed to the biggest business organisation in Sussex.
Mark Froud, currently director of policy at Sussex Enterprise, is to take over as chief executive when Ken Caldwell steps down on June 24.
John Peel, chairman of Sussex Enterprise and chief executive of Crawley-based manufacturing company Varian UK, said: "There was stiff competition from a strong field of external candidates from industry, commerce, government and the chamber network.
"The selection panel was agreed that Mark would be the right person to take Sussex Enterprise forward at this important stage in its development."
Mr Froud said: "I am looking forward to building on the work Ken Caldwell has done over the past seven years and extending the number of businesses we work with.
"Sussex Enterprise is answerable to its members. I plan to build on our membership base so it is fully recognised as the voice of business in Sussex.
"I want to work closely with other business organisations to ensure the government provides a public policy framework that helps businesses to grow rather than tying them up in red tape."
