Two kilograms of heroin, with a street value of £120,000, has been seized by Sussex Police in their largest haul in years.
A policeman was injured as officers swooped on a van driven by one suspect.
He fled on foot after being stopped by police on the southbound A23 north of Patcham, Brighton.
A traffic officer chased the suspect up a railway embankment and injured a hand in the tussle.
He was taken to the Royal Sussex County Hospital, Brighton, and treated for a minor wound.
A 37-year-old man from Redhill was arrested and was helping police with inquiries.
Police later raided two address in Brighton, in Bevendean and Whitehawk, and one in Redhill.
Officers recovered a total of two kilos of heroin and £4,500 in cash.
A second man, aged 21 and from Brighton, was arrested.
The arrests happened yesterday and both men were being questioned today at Brighton police station.
