We all read with disgust that the dustmen are going to change the days of refuse collections yet again in Brighton and Hove with no mention of Portslade, as usual.
This is due to take place on June 29 which, thankfully, will not affect us in this area because we were already forced to change from Thursdays to Wednesdays just over a year ago for some unknown reason.
My idea to resolve the litter problem is to use dustbins where it is practicable, for example in houses and bungalows which have back doors and entrances. Of course, it is more difficult with flats blocks.
Maybe there could be more wheelie-bins discreetly placed to stop the rubbish spreading in the high-risk areas.
We all know how difficult a job it is and not everyone's rubbish can be collected early in the morning. We all endeavour to put out stuff on the correct day, so we do not want to change our day again in the outpost of Portslade.
