Councillors have decided to keep running the city's waste contract.
Last year, Brighton and Hove City Council took over the collection of waste and cleaning the streets from private firm Sita.
The policy committee heard there has been a marked improvement in the service since then.
Environment councillor Chris Morley said: "It has great support from the workforce and people feel the service is better."
