Sussex's hopes of qualifying for the semi-finals of the One Day Second XII Trophy look bleak, following a third defeat in four games.
They were bowled out for a modest 169 by Kent at Sutton Valence School and the hosts then romped to victory by six wickets with more than 13 overs to spare.
James Hockley (59) and Matthew Banes (47) shared a second-wicket stand off 72 for Kent and Geraint Jones led them home with an unbeaten 47.
Will House, up against his former county, struck 62 to make most headway after Sussex had won the toss.
But the introduction of spinner Rob Ferley (3-25) helped spark a collapse and Sussex slipped from 82-2 at one stage to 102-7.
Last wicket pair Paul Havell (21) and John Morgan (13 not out) bravely added 41 to at least steer their side past 150.
