Sussex closed in on a second successive Championship win after taking two early wickets against Yorkshire at Arundel today.
Billy Taylor struck with the fourth ball of Yorkshire's second innings when he trapped Craig White leg before as the former England all-rounder shuffled across his stumps.
It was a major blow to a Yorkshire side who began the day 137 in arrears after Sussex had been bowled out for 392 just before the close last night.
There was further success for Sussex in the eighth over when Matthew Wood tried to cut a ball from Robin Martin-Jenkins which he ought to have left alone and got a thin bottom edge to wicket keeper Matt Prior.
Sussex's new ball attack kept things tight and when Taylor was replaced by Mark Robinson, Sussex should have been celebrating a third wicket.
Robinson bowled Yorkshire captain Darren Lehmann in the 17th over via a big inside edge but joy was short-lived when he turned to see umpire Neil Bainton signalling a no ball.
Lehmann celebrated his reprieve by taking a couple of boundaries off Kevin Innes in his first over after replacing Martin-Jenkins.
Together with Anthony McGrath he posted an unbroken third wicket stand of 50.
