Tonight, saxophonist Pat Crumly brings his quartet to Brighton Jazz Club.
Like many talented players, he has enjoyed parallel careers, running his own band and playing with Ronnie Scott in his quintet.
As a tribute to the late tenor, he has been fronting the Scott Legacy band.
Pat also spent a decade touring with major R&B names such as The Animals, Chris Farlowe and Maggie Bell and he has recorded with Scottish bluesman Tam White.
A naturally extrovert and richly-toned soloist, Pat has a fine backing trio with John Pearce, piano, US bassist Tim Wells and Mark Fletcher, drums.
On Tuesday, the house band play Worthing's Hare And Hounds jazz night with Godfrey Sheppard on double bass and John Greenwood on guitar.
At Komedia, Brighton's premier blues trio Smokestack, led by Phil Mills, will launch their CD Solid Gold.
At the Harlequin in Brighton on Wednesday, is one of the most exciting soloists in British jazz and another with close links to Scott. Dick Pearce was the lead trumpeter in Ronnie's band.
He is backed by Terry Seabrook, Spike Wells and Paul Whitten.
