Two postmen from Worthing have been arrested on suspicion of stealing Wimbledon tickets from the mail, Scotland Yard said today.
The men, both 25, were arrested on Thursday on suspicion of touting tickets for Court No 1.
A Scotland Yard spokesman said: "It would appear that these two men ordered tickets legitimately and through this would clearly have known what Wimbledon ticket envelopes look like."
Wimbledon police, who have bailed the pair until August 8, have handed the case over to Consignia's Post Office Investigations Unit in Brighton.
