These two bands more than lived up to their promise - they had a party on stage and brought the audience along.
Mexico's Los De Abajos delivered a powerful set.
No one took the slightest break as nearly everyone sang or played percussion in addition to their guitars or horns.
As well as exuberant lead vocalist Liber Teran, there were songs led by Odisea Valenzuela, who also played impressive bass trombone.
Ozomatli worked just as hard at giving the crowd a good time, with rapper Kanetic Source driving the audience into a frenzy.
The Latino spirit of their Mexican support was sustained by the Los Angeles crew, plus massive hip-hop beats and attitude.
Their similar line-up included another brilliant three-piece horn section.
In addition to the rapper, lead vocals came from trumpeter Asdru Sierra and guitarist Raul Pacheco while other layers came from DJ Spinobi's decks.
Ozomatli finished their long set as they opened it, processing through the crowd performing on drums and brass.
No one present could disagree with their "best live band in the world" tag.
