More than 50 businesses are taking part in this year's Brighton and Hove in Bloom campaign.
Colourful tubs, window boxes and hanging baskets have been appearing outside shops and offices around the city.
To mark the event, the campaign organisers and the City Centre Business Forum have joined forces to produce a leaflet for visitors listing all the businesses in The Lanes and North Laine taking part.
Councillor Heather James, deputy chairwoman of the city council's environment committee, said: "The fantastic response from city centre traders proves flowers, tubs and hanging baskets not only bring a splash of colour to our shopping streets but are good for business too. Every summer, residents and visitors comment on the wonderful floral displays.
"This new leaflet is our way of recognising the contribution of businesses in the Lanes and North Laines to the campaign and thanking them for their tremendous effort."
Tony Mernagh, of the forum, said: "Any good business person in the city will recognise that Brighton and Hove in Bloom scheme is an incredibly good deal.
"Two or three hanging baskets can totally transform a street.
"The public really do appreciate it when shops give something back to their customers and this is a fantastic way to do just that."
