Model Jordan added a touch of glamour at an assembly to honour Falmer School pupil Natasha Stapleton.
The 12-year-old, who has been diagnosed with terminal cancer, was too unwell to attend the assembly this morning where she was to be presented with a Diana, Princess of Wales Award for Young People.
Instead, Eileen Rye, described as "Moulsecoomb's favourite granny", was on hand to collect the award on her behalf.
Teachers, pupils and relatives are raising money to fund a trip to Disneyland Paris for the youngster.
Headteacher Antony Edkins told the assembly Natasha had demonstrated: "resilience, bravery, determination and a sense of cheerfulness in the face of adversity - an adversity totally undeserved and uncalled for."
Jordan met members of Natasha's family and congratulated those who have helped with the fund-raising effort.
They included two teachers and pupils at the school who collected £1,300 from members of the public at Asda in Hollingbury.
The fund-raisers also hope to supply Natasha with gifts like a Playstation to make her time in hospital easier.
The collection work will continue tonight, with a charity evening and auction at Dragons Health Club.
Mr Edkins said the assembly had been a great success.
He said: "There were 800 children and they gave Jordan a very warm welcome. The assembly lasted 40 minutes, it was the longest I have ever done but it was wonderful."
