Up to 20,000 people are expected to descend on Hove seafront for a peace festival.
Sound stages will be set up on Hove Lawns for performances by local bands and groups from all over the world.
Among those performing will be four eight-year-olds from Brighton as rock band Noise R Us.
A music technology and DJ workshop will also be set up for 11 to 18-year-olds.
Performances of drama, cabaret and poetry will take place and more than 100 stalls will be set up by local organisations.
A peace forum will also take place, with speakers from Greenpeace, Oxfam and others.
Organiser Will Cottrell said: "It is a celebration of cultural diversity, run for the community by the community.
"We are expecting more than 20,000 people to attend.
"We are also looking for volunteers to help set up the stages, act as stewards and make sure it is a really good day."
Peace 2002 takes place on Sunday from noon to 7pm.
Anyone who would like to help should phone 01273 241625 or turn up early on the day.
