Like Michael Winter (Letters, July 4), I have written two letters to Brighton and Hove City Council's environment and housing department since early March, concerning the phone mast and green box erected on the green at the top of Fairview Rise, Westdene.

My letters are not only a complaint about the mast but also that the box creates a driving hazard for cars turning left from Hillcrest into Fairview Rise.

The box prevents a clear view from the right until the car is completely into the road.

Conversely, coming up Fairview Rise and turning right into Hillcrest is an equal hazard.

Once the council is a safely elected body, does it consider there is no need to take any notice of complaints from mere members of the public, who are only able to protest from outside the Council Chamber and not able to demand a hearing inside?

Where has public service gone? It is exceedingly annoying to be ignored by people who call themselves public servants.
