I am sitting at my desk watching the new supermarket site on Church Road, Hove, and have just watched the unnecessary massacre of three trees that must be well over 100 years old, all in the name of greed.

The largest tree stood in the corner of the site and would not have affected the new building. It is the last straw after seeing the two old buildings pulled down in the name of so-called progress.

All my colleagues are disgusted at the felling of these trees. Does anybody else feel the same or is the city turning into "The Place to Be for Apathy"?
