I was passing the Jubilee site in Brighton the other day and saw that a cement-covered wheelbarrow containing an old shovel, a rake and a pickaxe is now on-site.
I must admit this made me swell with pride at being British.
It has taken us only eight months from the announcement of the building of the new library for this wheelbarrow to appear.
Good God - it took the French three years for the new terminal at Charles De Gaulle Airport to be planned, built and connected to a new road.
