We read in The Argus about us all having ID cards - and at a price of around £5 or so.
We all had some sort of identification during the Second World War and in the Royal Air Force, Royal Navy, Army and all the other branches of the different services.
So what is the problem in 2002 with carrying ID if you have nothing to hide?
Well, okay, this is fine - no problem whatsoever - but it certainly is not okay for pensioners to have to pay for them.
Were it not for the men and women during the war, members of the Government would not even be here to make these suggestions. So come on, David Blunkett, get your brain in gear.
I call on all readers, especially the pensioners, to say: We won't pay.
