Big Beach Boutique II was a fantastic event, people were wonderfully well behaved and although I accept the rubbish was appalling, please put this in context.
The weather was perfect, giving the tourism industry along the South Coast a much-needed boost.
We are a tourist city, with a reputation as a party place, encouraged by Brighton and Hove City Council to attract wealth here and, indeed, to give us the city status everyone is so delighted about.
People didn't have to stay at the front - if conditions were too enclosed, they should have moved up to the esplanade.
That's where I was and I wasn't crushed all evening. I had a perfect view of the event and the freedom to move where I wanted to.
