A Sussex mushroom company is investing £10 million in the next five years to raise production.
Heveco Mushrooms, based at Thakeham, near Storrington, will increase the availability of English mushrooms in the EU.
It will increase its annual UK production six-fold to 400 tonnes and will be able to meet requirements for less common types.
Managing director Mark Howarth said: "We are expecting to double our production every two years at a cost of £1 million to £1.5 million a year."
Heveco Mushrooms, a subsidiary of Dutch-based Heveco BV, bought the Thakeham site nine months ago from Chesswood Produce.
