It should come as no surprise that Michael Lewis (Letters, July 16), who argues that the Normstock event should take place again next year, lives in Burgess Hill.
Had his town been destroyed by litter, the overpowering stench of urine and the likely damage to tourism caused by broken glass all over the beach, he may have looked at it differently.
The real killjoys are the inconsiderate people who decided to trash the seafront and let others clear up the mess.
It is interesting to see how few people from Brighton on the news, the web and in email discussion lists actually support the event. Most who do are from outside the city.
