How typical of Keith Taylor of the Greens. Instead of congratulating our superb public services for their professionalism on Saturday night, he calls their skill and duty into question (July 16).
Safety was maintained in the face of unpredictable numbers inflated by the weather. The public services were remarkable.
They do not need an "inquiry" by Councillor Taylor and his political mates.
I know the Greens, and their opposition allies the Tories and Lib-Dems, love to knock Brighton and its achievements but don't start knocking the professionalism of the police, the paramedics, the seafront staff, Brighton and Hove City Council leisure staff, the fire brigade, the ambulance people and all the others who made Saturday such an event.
There are always lessons to be learnt. But well done to them, I say.
-Simon Fanshawe, a Saturday-night reveller
