Open-top buses will run along Brighton and Hove seafront this summer for the first time in years.
Brighton and Hove Bus and Coach Company will introduce the service between Brighton Marina and the King Alfred leisure centre in Hove.
Managing director Roger French said: "We're reintroducing the service to test the market for travel along the seafront.
"There has been so much talk about transit systems which will cost millions and probably never see the light of day, so we thought we would try out the old-fashioned open-top bus service."
The route will be numbered 17 - just as it was when first introduced more than 60 years ago - but bosses have stopped short of painting buses in the traditional cream livery.
They will run every half-hour daily during the school holidays, from 11am to 7pm.
Closed buses will run in poor weather or when the open-top buses are unavailable.
All the usual Brighton and Hove fares and tickets will be available. The service starts on July 27 and runs until September 1.
