The Royal Navy's newest warship, HMS Shoreham, will visit its namesake Sussex port on Saturday.
The minehunter will officially join the Navy's fleet at a ceremony in Shoreham Harbour at 11am, attended by 250 guests and 35 crew.
HMS Shoreham was built in Southampton and launched in April last year. Its first deployment will be to the Gulf in January.
The ship's captain, Lieutenant Commander Tom Guy, said: "Being captain of a ship to be commissioned is always a proud moment. But when the ceremony is in the ship's namesake town, it is even more special."
