Gary Hart is being lined up for an Albion comeback after completing his recovery from a broken leg.

The versatile 26-year-old frontrunner trained yesterday and is expected to play part of the match when the Seagulls visit Bognor on Monday.

It will be his first appearance since being carried off at Peterborough in the run-in to the Division Two title last spring.

Hart's return will ease Albion's headaches in attack, though he has also been used as an attack-minded right midfielder in the club's rapid climb to Division One.

Hitman Bobby Zamora is expected to resume full training a week on Monday as he recovers from a minor groin operation.

Albion have Grimsby's Bradley Allen on trial and have admitted they are on the hunt for a striker.

Boss Martin Hinshelwood has told fans they will have to wait to see more new faces in a Seagulls shirt.

He said: "We have got a few other names we are looking at.

"We hope to get one or two in. We have still got three weeks to go until the start of the season and we are talking to people.

"We are looking at getting someone in before we play the pro clubs."

Albion's first friendly against League opposition is a week today when they go to Leyton Orient.

They visit Bournemouth on Saturday, August 3, exactly a week before the long-awaited Division One opener at Burnley.

Today the Seagulls head to the ground where fans first glimpsed Hart's enthusiastic brand of forward play as they visit Crawley Town at the Broadfield Stadium (3pm).

Youth team goalkeeper Alex Bryant is added to the squad after Will Packham turned an ankle at Sutton on Thursday.

Hinshelwood has given players 45 minutes apiece in the opening two friendlies and he said: "We will use the same format. It should be a good workout in front of a good crowd."
