The family of Mohammed Raja today vowed to continue his civil action against Nicholas van Hoogstraten.
Mr Raja was suing multi-millionaire Hoogstraten, alleging fraud over a property deal, when he was killed.
Mr Raja's son Amjad said: "In seeking the truth, he has sacrificed his life by taking legal action against Hoogstraten.
"We as a family intend to carry on with that action. Hopefully, we will get a positive result from the High Court."
Members of Mr Raja's extended family embraced detectives after the case.
Amjad Raja said: "This was a brutal murder. We as a family knew Hoogstraten was guilty from day one. He sent these vicious killers who murdered our father.
"He has destroyed our family and has taken away from us a wonderful father who would have done anything for his children."
He thanked witnesses in the case, adding: "We know how intimidating van Hoogstraten can be.
"I think he was always arrogant. He was very vindictive and had a short fuse."
Mr Raja, a 41-year-old property dealer, added: "This will never bring our father back, but justice has been done."
