It infuriates me when I read comments describing the Fatboy Slim crowd as "good-natured" and "generally well-behaved".
The evidence to the contrary is indisputable - tonnes of glass and rubbish on Brighton beach.
Obviously, as soon as the majority of people realised there was a serious lack of disposal facilities, most chose to relinquish any sense of individual or social responsibility and dropped their rubbish and glass bottles to the ground with no regard for the environment or future safety of beach-goers.
In fact, the first irresponsible choice was to bring glass bottles to the beach.
Being responsible for your own waste may be an inconvenience.
It may mean drinking less or - dare I say it? - not at all or ensuring your rubbish is removed to an area away from the pebbles.
Difficult among the crowds? Probably, but so what?
