I want to say well done for your articles about Nicholas Hoogstraten (July 23).

The man is clearly repulsive and has no morals or care for anyone or anything bar his own wealth.

It was refreshing to see a newspaper have the courage to speak openly about the sort of man he is rather than tiptoe around the subject not wanting to offend.

Any individual who can treat his fellow man in such a despicable way does not deserve to be given any respect.

I was delighted when I read he was to be jailed as he is clearly a manipulative and disgraceful blot on humanity.

I only wish his property could be taken away and maintained in a proper manner with the tenants being treated fairly and decently.

Perhaps the court would consider putting him in stocks in the centre of Brighton so all the disgruntled residents could tell him exactly what they think.

It's amazing such people can exist with absolutely no morals. Scum, subhuman scum.
