MyTravel soothed investors' nerves by reassuring the City that trading was in line with expectations.
The tour operator, formerly known as Airtours, includes Hove-based Panorama and Manos Holidays.
Hit hard by September 11 and the subsequent slump in tourism, it cut capacity and costs, including the loss of 1,600 jobs.
Its interim pre-tax losses widened to £157 million from £97.6 million.
But in its latest update, MyTravel said UK volumes and prices had started to build strongly, with summer bookings only five per cent behind last year's levels.
