A Sussex business adviser has won an award for his work with young entrepreneurs.
Brian McGeary received the Young Enterprise business adviser award for the South-East region, sponsored by the Institute of Chartered Accountants.
Mr McGeary, a business support officer with Eastbourne Borough Council, was nominated by one of the pupils taking part in a Young Enterprise project at Willingdon Community School in the town.
The project centred on the creation of a business selling hand-decorated terracotta pots filled with sweets.
The students were introduced to all aspects of running a business, from the social skills required to raising finance and trading at a profit.
Mr McGeary, who has two grown-up children, said he had found Young Enterprise to be challenging and highly worthwhile.
