Two teenage brothers and a classically-trained pianist are among 12 nominees for Britain's most prestigious music prize.
Brighton-based teen rockers The Electric Soft Parade and experimental musician Joanna MacGregor, also of Brighton, will vie for the Mercury Music Prize after being short-listed along with rock legend David Bowie.
Brothers Alex, 19, and Tom White, 17, released Holes In The Wall, their debut album, six months ago.
Joanna MacGregor, professor of music at Gresham College, London, said she was "shocked and surprised" her album, Play, was nominated.
