Why are so many people in Woodingdean and other residential areas obsessed with having bonfires?
On the rare hot evenings of the year, we can't enjoy sitting outside. Windows have to be kept shut, the kids get upset with the stink of the smoke and being too hot and unable to sleep.
All because of the thoughtless ones who insist on burning a heap of garden rubbish.
Garden waste can be composted and, if you don't want to do it yourself, take it to the tip and stick it on the green-waste pile. If you can't get to the tip, ask someone to take it for you.
What's wrong with you all? Come on, sort yourselves out and show a bit of consideration for your neighbours and the environment.
I don't understand why bonfires should even be allowed in residential areas. Perhaps this issue should be taken up by our elected councillors?
