"Conservative policies put faith in families and society to make the right decisions for themselves, giving them freedom and opportunity" said Jonathan Sheppard (Letters, July 30).
Not when it comes to whether or not we should join the euro they don't. The Tories have made that decision for us.
It doesn't matter if you are for or against, not sure or would like to find out more - you are not allowed to have a say.
No debate, no referendum, no choice. Not if they have their way.
This is the same party that blocked legislation to ban hunting and repeal Section 28 using its unelected majority in the House of Lords.
So much for the will of the people.
This is the same party that "knew best" when it came to the Poll Tax, railway privatisation and leaving the NHS to rot.
This is the same party that thinks providing low-cost social housing for people in essential public services "restricts the individual's opportunity to buy".
I think the right decision to make for myself, given the freedom and opportunity to do so, is never to let the Tories run anything ever again.
