Surely, after the conviction of one exploiter and the murder of another, people must eventually be waking from their reverie that the private housing market is a general force for good.
The above only serves to prove there are few winners and many losers in the supply and demand free-for-all that the open-market system allows.
It's a game that is loaded heavily against the man in the street. Everyone must begin to see through the fallacy of "owning your own home"?
It's time for people to put pressure on the powers-that-be so the future lies in providing decent, affordable accommodation as a right and not to be exploited by dysfunctional, greedy individuals or the greed of moneylenders, estate agents, managing agents etc.
When the proportion of someone's disposable income to pay for accommodation is so high it precludes them from having any kind of life, it's time to reassess things.
A monster has been created called the private housing market which dominates many people's lives and now needs to be dismantled. As the old adage has it, "You can't take it with you."
