An art gallery has launch-ed an online resource for visually-impaired people.
The Tate Gallery's i-Map project provides an interactive examination of key themes of modern art by focusing on selected works by Matisse and Picasso.
It uses text, enhanced images and animations and provides an opportunity to print raised images from specially-formatted files.
Director Sir Nicholas Serota said the site showed the gallery's commitment to insuring its collection was accessible to everyone.
He said: "I hope i-Map will encourage more blind and partially-sighted people to experience the Tate collection both online and in the galleries."
The launch was timed to coincide with an exhibition of paintings by Picasso and Matisse but the project will be a permanent feature of the Tate's web site and there are plans to include works by other artists.
