Builders are racing to get a new college building in Brighton ready for students.
A topping-out ceremony was held at the extension to City College Brighton and Hove in Whitecross Street yesterday.
The large building will include a library, learning resource centre and a new student dining area.
A training restaurant, called The Gallery, will replace the Pelham Restaurant in the main building.
Contractor Benson hopes to finish the £8.2 million project during the autumn term.
Principal Ann Smith, who attended the ceremony with college project manager Charles Blunt, said the extension would be a huge improvement.
She said: "We are busy enrolling and I am sure students will appreciate this new building."
