Sex shops and amusement arcades are set to be banned from a town
square and other businesses restricted.
Adur District Council says a sex shop in Southwick Square, Southwick, is not acceptable.
The council owns the buildings and leases them to traders. It will decide which businesses to allow on Thursday.
Its development and scrutiny committee will hear that core businesses including a baker, butcher, post office, bank, chemist, newsagent and greengrocer should be allowed.
Desirable businesses such as a bookshop and electrical retailer will also be welcome.
However, an amusement arcade or sex shop would not be permitted and the number of off-licences and fast food outlets will also be limited.
