Why is it when it comes to transport, most people's imaginations run riot or their common sense disappears?
First, we have had headline letters from Worthing telling us buses pollute more than cars. Big deal, they are bigger after all.
Next we had "if we could only use bus lanes, congestion would disappear". If only it was that simple.
Now we have Brighton and Hove Albion wanting to encourage people to use "sustainable modes of transport" by creating another car park.
Apparently, driving all the way across Sussex is deemed green as long as you call it park and ride.
But then, in this country, supporting public transport has been a joke for so long, no one really notices any more.
Given that we are continuously told how oversubscribed the Albion is, the
club could easily afford to insist more people catch a bus or train directly to
Withdean.
Where is the imagination and inspiration that has done so much for the club over the past few years?
