A 91-year-old man is appealing for the return of his stolen wallet, which contained a treasured picture of his late wife.

Wally Little thinks he was pick-pocketed coming out of the Somerfield supermarket in London Road, Brighton at about 10.30am on Saturday.

Within two hours, the thieves had used his cash card twice.

But it is not the money that Mr Little is interested in. He is more worried about getting the photo back.

The picture is of him and his wife Heather, who died in 1995, and is more than 50 years old.

Mr Little, who lives in Brighton, said: "I must have had it pinched as I was going from Somerfield to the market. It had all my cards in it, including my partially sighted certificate."

The leather wallet is black and has his initials, WL, on it. Anyone who finds it should contact Brighton police.
