Things finally seem to be going right for Brighton bike racer Kenny Everest.
It has been a couple of years since Everest was a force to be reckoned with in club racing.
He looked like stepping up to national racing at one stage but a succession of mechanical problems hampered his progress and made it a miserable two seasons.
However, Everest now appears to have turned a corner.
He said: "I turned things round at Thruxton in the MRO Championship. I made some changes to the bike and they have worked.
"I am not having problems with the bike anymore and I am not having to make big changes to it each time I race, which makes a difference.
"There were some Superbikes at Thruxton and I am running a standard bike, so I was pleased with fifth place."
In a club meeting at Brands Hatch Everest took a fourth, a second and two thirds on his way to collecting the 'Man of the Meeting' trophy. It was his first merit trophy since 1999.
He also took a first and a second in a club meeting at Snetterton a fortnight ago.
Everest added: "It is too late to do anything in the MRO Championship this year but I will be looking to pick up points in the last few rounds.
'I am trying to win a couple if I can and impress people so that I can get a ride for next season."
