Alfriston clinched the Cuckmere Valley League title after leaders Blackboys suffered a final day defeat at home to lowly East Dean.
Both teams finished on 40 points but Alfriston were declared champions by virtue of gaining their points from winning games rather than abandoned matches.
Blackboys had only gone top a week earlier after beating Alfriston but they lost by 19 runs to third from bottom East Dean.
The visitors posted a total of 163-9 with Mike Bush top-scoring. Colin Albright hit 44 in reply and Gary Funnell 33 but Blackboys were dismissed for 144 with Simon Farrer taking 3-21.
Alfriston won by ten wickets at Laughton to climb above Blackboys. Lee Poulton (50 not out) and Matt Harmer (44 not out) spearheaded the victory charge as they passed Laughton's total of 114 all out.
Bells Yew Green finished third after clinching victory in the last over at home to Selmeston. Charlie Saunders hit 45 not out as Selmeston totalled 207-7 but the home side overhauled that total with Dominic Bowen scoring 95 not out.
Withyham won with two balls to spare at Firle. Richard Gravett (56) and Richard Climpson (44) helped Firle reach 192-7 but Withyham passed that thanks to Alistair Currie (84) and Phil Adams (60).
Burwash Weald clinched the second promotion spot in division two after a seven wicket win over Nutley, who finished third. Denton clinched the title on the most wins ruling following their defeat of Ridgewood.

Drury 5-19) lost to Denton 161-8 (David Ellis 48).
Balcombe's lower order came to the rescue as the Mid Sussex League leaders beat Plumpton by 50 runs.
Number nine James Whitefield hit 52, Tim Wall 46 and Gary Paddon 32 as the last three wickets added 125 against the bowling of Richard Ward (4-46).
James Bayley took 4-54 as Plumpton folded from 107-2 with 20 overs left to 155 all out.
Second-placed Horsted Keynes cruised to a nine-wicket win against Staplefield.
