Richard Hudson fired a first half hat-trick as Bognor thrashed hapless Chertsey 6-0 at Nyewood Lane.
Victory however was marred by a 69th minute sending off for home goalkeeper Craig Stoner which is likely to mean a one-match ban and a thigh injury for skipper Michael Birmingham Matt Russell made his long awaited return from injury in bizarre circumstances as he took the No. 1 shirt which meant both sides had outfield players in goal.
The visitors were two down in eight minutes and had Abby Nsubuga and goalkeeper Paul Seuke taken to hospital after the collision which allowed Rupert Sansom to slide home the opener on his Ryman League debut.
Hudson, playing as a central striker for the under-strength hosts, added two close range strikes and was guilty of two bad misses before completing his treble with a classy finish on 44 minutes.
New boy Steve Leigh lobbed the fifth on half time as Rocks continued their flying start to the Division One South season.
A clearly upset Stoner was shown red after bringing down Warren Burton just outside the box but substitute Abdou Ndoye lifted home spirits again by chipping the sixth with his first touch after great work from Kevin Murphy.
Another former Albion youngster Stefan Wojciechowski should have crowned his Bognor debut with a goal but shot over from five yards in the final minutes.
Horsham fought back from their open day disappointment with a 2-0 win over the Met Police at Queen Street.
In a goalless first half the best chance came on nine minutes when James Grant flicked the ball into the penalty area and Gary Charman lobbed goalkeeper Stuart Mackenzie only to see his effort bounce off the top of the bar.
Horsham took the lead four minutes after the restart when Charman broke down the left and fired towards goal. The ball looked to be heading inside the far post, but Rob Collins was on hand to help it into the net.
It was 2-0 in the 83rd minute as Grant charged down the middle and unleashed an unstoppable drive into the right corner.
Lewes drew 2-2 in a hugely entertaining encounter at Whyteleafe.
Despite the Rooks having the best of the opening period, Whyteleafe took the lead on 19 minutes when Paul Thomsett looped a header into his own net over advancing keeper Ross Standen.
Lewes equalised in the 38th minute with an Andy Driscoll penalty after Gareth Green was pushed in the area by Nigel Golley.
Rooks then took the lead four minutes from the interval with a superb strike by Graham Harper from 20 yards.
However, Whyteleafe equalised in first half stoppage time when a corner from Gareth Graham was nodded in by Golley.
Worthing paid the penalty for failure to make the final pass count as they went down by a single goal at Leatherhead.
The Tanners took maximum points thanks to a goal against the run of play on the stroke of half time by Phil Ruggles.
Worthing came closest to equalising when, from a Ben Carrington cross, Knee directed a header narrowly past the post.
