Paul Kitson is "excited" by the prospect of partnering Bobby Zamora after a career playing alongside top class strikers.
The Albion newcomer's impressive CV of allies includes Alan Shearer, Peter Beardsley, Andy Cole, Ian Wright and Paolo Di Canio.
"Bobby has scored a lot of goals and taken everybody's eye," Kitson said. "I have got a lot of friends at West Ham who are friends of his. They have said good things about him, so I am excited about playing with him."
Kitson was persuaded to sign for the Seagulls following talks last week with manager Martin Hinshelwood and chairman Dick Knight.
"I met them at Gatwick and I was impressed by what they had to say. I was sitting on the bench at West Ham for most of last season and I want to be back playing.
"I trained last Friday and enjoyed it. There was a good atmosphere and I thought why not?"
Kitson, transferred between Leicester, Derby, Newcastle and West Ham for fees totalling £5.85 million, has taken a substantial pay cut to move from Upton Park to Withdean.
"Money is not the be all and end all," he said. "I want to be back out there playing week in and week out and doing what I do best, which is scoring goals."
