I thank all our volunteers and those who made donations to street collections for the Disasters Emergency Committee Southern Africa Emergency appeal in Lewes last week.
Thanks also to Lewes District Council and Tesco, who allowed us to set up these collections at short notice.
A collection in Lewes precinct on August 15 raised £263, while a Saturday morning collection outside Lewes Tesco raised a further £132.
In Mozambique alone, more than 500,000 people are in desperate need of food - equivalent to the entire population of East Sussex.
The £395 collected is enough to provide tools and seeds to keep 24 families self-sufficient for a month.
