A pensioner has been reunited with a plaque commemorating her dead nephew, four years after it was stolen.
We appealed for information on Tuesday about a mystery tribute to Brian Blacker, which Sally Kennedy found outside her house in Harrington Road, Brighton.
Mr Blacker's aunt, Lilian Whatling, came forward to reveal the plaque came from a tree planted in his honour.
Mr Blacker died in 1994, aged 65, and a tree was planted shortly afterwards in Loder Road, Brighton.
But it was attacked by vandals four years ago and the metal plaque bearing Mr Blacker's name disappeared.
Mrs Whatling, 86, of Loder Road, is baffled by how it came to rest outside Mrs Kennedy's home.
She said: "I'm very grateful to have the chance to get the plaque back. It was very upsetting when the plaque was ripped away and we'd given it up for lost. But now I'll be putting it back with the tree."
