Hat-trick star Richard Hudson believes Bognor and Lewes can both challenge for promotion in the Ryman League.
Hudson's treble helped Bognor thrash woeful Chertsey 6-0 on Tuesday to go top of Division One South after two games.
He was then keen to find out how his old club Lewes had fared at Whyteleafe on the same night. Hudson, operating as a central striker due to Rocks' injury problems, said: "I wanted to know their result because I used to play for them and also because they will be up there.
"Lewes is a hard place to go but I don't think they are so good away from home. We have made a good start and promotion has got to be our aim this time."
Jon Tucker, Matt Edwards, Guy Rutherford and Michael Birmingham are all out for Rocks while Nicky Wyatt has been told he will miss four to six weeks with a groin problem.
Gavin Geddes is doubtful for Horsham's home game with Croydon after picking up a knock to the ankle.
That sets up a chance for Dave Flemming and Rob Collins to team up in attack.
Fans will get a chance tomorrow to quiz directors about their plan to build a new 3,500-capacity ground on the southern outskirts of town.
Hornets will not move in to their new home for at least two years.
Worthing expect to retain their three-man front line but are waiting for news on defender Andy Alexander, who has an ankle injury.
