After a month in Edinburgh, the Komedia crew are back with a cracking autumn programme of theatre, comedy and cabaret.

It gets off to a dazzling start with Australian comic Bob Downe on September 3 and 4.

Bob does to the Seventies what Dame Edna Everage does to the Fifties. He takes elements of the of the decade which we remember as innocent and fun-loving, then adds a undercurrent of sordidness.

Fiery female comic Francesca Martinez offers some in-your-face observations on September 14.

Martinez played Rachel in Grange Hill for five series but is back doing what she loves best - sassy, knife-edge comedy.

Count Arthur Strong's Forgotten Egypt is a painfully funny ventriloquism act with an Egyptian mummy dummy. It was a massive hit at the Edinburgh Festival Fringe, scoring enthusiastic reviews and sell-out audiences, The brainchild of Steve Delaney, this show is a must-see for lovers of off-the-wall, character comedy. The show takes place on September 20 and 21. Tickets are £8/£6.

Awe-inspiring actress Linda Marlowe follows her acclaimed Diatribe Of Love and Berkoff's Women with See You On The Ice, a new solo piece based on the real life of the world's oldest trapeze artist.

The play unravels the life of the 100-year-old acrobat and explores her memories as daring divorcee, rock-chick, sexploitation cinema star, Amazonian adventurer, manic mother and professional free spirit. See it on September 17. Tickets are £9/£7 conc.

Play Wisty For Me on September 18 and 19 tells the life of comic genius Peter Cook through his own comic creations.

We hear a fine blend of reverence and critical insight from Dud and Pete, Derek and Clive, Sir Arthur Streeb-Greebling and the late-night phone-in hosts Norwegian fisherman Sven and E L Wisty. Tickets are £8/£6.

The Stage Best Actor winners Guy Masterson and Beth Fitzgerald bring David Mamet's Broadway and West End masterpiece Oleanne to Komedia on September 24 and 25.

A confused student challenges her university tutor to explain his ideas but their ensuing discussion challenges both their beliefs and their trust of each other. Tickets are £10/£8.

Cabaret delights range from Barb Jungr's now legendary Cafe Prague. This night of seductive songs takes place on September 25. Tickets cost £8/£6.

Barbra Streisand fans can knock themselves out with an entire evening of the diva's greatest hits on September 27 and 28.

New York impersonator Steven Brindberg also belts out classic songs as Julie Andrews, Ethel Merman and Eatha Kitt. Tickets are £10/£8 conc.
