With regard to J Lyons' comments about Gordon Dean (Letters, August 16), I, too, am fed up turning to the letters page to find it filled with mundane trivia about long-gone actors and musicians (whatever nationality).
I'm sure Mr Dean and Roger Moodiman have their fans but a letters page should be for peoples' views on current happenings and events, not for reminiscing about the good old days.
Why not give Messrs Dean and Moodiman their own little section in The Argus Weekend? That way, I and others like me could avoid it, leaving the letters page to be filled with items of interest to the rest of us who do not want to read about a one-handed concert pianist or someone who played servant No 2.
