What a wonderful time I and my child and friend had on Saturday, August 18, at the Woodingdean pool. Why more people don't volunteer their services is beyond me.
The people there are very helpful and, despite the dilapidated state of the changing rooms and the peeling paintwork, it's a lovely place to take your family. It's not expensive and refreshments are provided.
It's just a shame local businesses could not help out more with materials or time. The pool is manned entirely by volunteers and a damn good job they do. Could The Argus not help organise something on the lines of Challenge Anneka by getting someone to do the asking? Or could the local radio do it?
I shall definitely go there again. Speaking as a visitor, I wish more communities were like Woodingdean.
