Herstmonceux and Seaford have both won promotion from division two of the East Sussex League.

The pair meet at Seaford this Saturday in what could be a title decider.

Seaford jumped back to the top of the table after beating promotion hopefuls Iden by eight wickets. David White hit 43 for Iden but his side were bowled out for 102 with Paul Mason (4-16) and John Smith (3-42) sharing the honours. John Reynolds (39) and Dave Stanyard (33 not out) then steered the visitors to victory in 25.4 overs.

Herstmonceux were held to a draw by Hellingly - a result which ended the latter's promotion hopes.

Dave White struck 98 as Herstmonceux posted 173 all out, Dave Pye's 5-43 being the pick of the bowling. Hellingly were tied down by Alan Smith (3-42) in reply and closed on 133-9.

Barcombe moved out of the relegation zone after a four-wicket win at home to Rye, who are now bottom. Joe Wheatley was star of the show, taking 5-27 as Rye were dismissed for 134 and then top-scoring with 27 as Barcombe knocked off the runs. Keith Savage also hit 27.

Pevensey currently occupy the second relegation spot. Gavin Hornby hit 56 as they made 237-7 away to Battle. The hosts replied with 202-7, Jeremy Reid scoring 69 as Paul Nunney took 4-91.

The Brighton derby between St Peters and Rottingdean finished in a draw.

Richard Dale hit 84 not out as Saints made 207-8, Tom Burton taking 5-44. Rottingdean replied with 200-8 with Mark Smith scoring 65 and Burton 55 as Darren Krug took 5-38, including a spell of 4-5 in ten balls.
