Thank you, Brighton Centre, for once again providing the Holiday On Ice rink for public skating from August 16 to September 8.
With six two-hour sessions per day it allows many people to enjoy ice skating on a decent sized rink in Brighton.
Thank you, too, to Patricia Ginman for organising the two skate workshops for figure and speed skating.
The figure skating was taken by national coach Tony Barron, from Milton Keynes, and junior GB squad member and international medallist Simon Surridge.
The speed skating was taken by coach David Adby and members of the Aldwych Speed Club, from the Spectrum, Guildford.
The enthusiasm was obvious from the youngsters, aged from seven to 14, who took part. It was also nice to see members of the old speed skating club from the SS Brighton, many of whom are now 70 plus.
So come on Brighton and Hove City Council, wake up and listen to what people want and have been waiting more than 30 years for. Let's have a facility people of all ages can enjoy. Other cities have one, why can't we?
